Our Journey
NGO for Children
The Journey of a Free School
Let's trace back to the roots of our organisation, which began from being a free school teaching just a few kids in a park in 2016 to becoming a registered NGO and much more!!
2016
Beginning of a Free School
In 2016, a young visionary teenager, yearning to witness change and help the needy, brought his idea of a free school to life. Mr Raghav Sharma started teaching underprivileged kids in a public park with the vision of providing free education for all underprivileged children.
2017
The Launch of Project Aashray
Project Aashray, which falls under UN's Sustainable Development Goal 2 i.e. Zero Hunger, aims to provide nutritious meals along with quality education to the students of the free school. Since its inception in 2017, we have distributed 01 lakh+ meals to the children and conducted food distribution drives in various parts of Delhi.

2018
Launching Project Clothes Bring Smile
As clothing is one of the basic necessities for a person, SKCF has conducted several cloth distribution drives since the inception of Project Clothes Bring Smile in 2018, an initiative aligning with the UN's SDG-3. As the name suggests, the project aims to provide children studying in ‘free school’ with decent and comfortable clothing along with food and quality education.
2019
Free School now a registered NGO; Launching Project Udaan
Our NGO reached a new milestone when it was registered under the Indian Trust Act, 1882 in 2019. In the same year, we distributed 10,000 meals under Project Aashray along with the inception of a new initiative, Project Udaan. Udaan aims to provide underprivileged girls access to sanitary products and spread awareness regarding menstruation. Since its inception, more than 5000 sanitary pads have been distributed across different parts of India.

2020
Free Education for All, Online!
When the whole world suddenly stopped moving and got stuck at their homes due to the COVID-19 pandemic, SKCF decided to bring education to the students through virtual mode. Project Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan was launched in 2020, aiming to provide free education to children through virtual means. SKCF sponsored smartphones and data packages for the students. The official website of SKCF was also launched, introducing different domains.
2021
Going beyond a Free School
SKCF received 12A and 80G certificates in the year 2021. In the same year, we also launched Project Serving Stray Animals (SSA), aligning with SDG-15, aiming to provide nutrition to animals adversely affected by the second wave of COVID-19. Since its inception, we have served 100+ animals including dogs and cows. Our volunteers have also rescued birds and dogs during heavy rainfall and ensured that they were given proper medical attention.

2022
From an NGO in Delhi to a dream school for many kids
In 2022, SKCF hit a new milestone, when it shifted from a public park to a rented accommodation! Instead of studying under the open sky, the students of free school now have a roof over their heads. The students can now study without worrying about Delhi's weather extremities! Also, we initiated Project Bhoomi, striving to create a cleaner, greener, and healthier environment for future generations.
